Why window & door marketing is different

Your cost per lead is not the number that decides whether the month worked.

You do not sell windows on a website. You sell them at a kitchen table, in a two-hour demo, to two people who both have to be home. Everything that determines whether a campaign made money happens after the form is submitted — and that is exactly the part most agencies never see.

So the reporting drifts away from the business. An agency can show you a record month of cheap leads while your crews have open calendar, because a lead that never books, never sits, or turns out to be one decision-maker on a rental property still counts as a lead. It counted. It just did not pay for anything.

The fix is not better ad copy. It is feeding the outcomes that matter — appointment set, appointment sat, job sold — back into the platforms buying your traffic, so they optimize toward buyers instead of toward whoever fills in a form most easily. That is most of the job.

What’s included

What a digital marketing agency for window & door companies should actually do

Six areas of work. These are also the six things we report against every month.

Search advertising by product and by trigger

People do not search for “windows.” They search for impact windows, hurricane windows, window replacement near me, sliding glass door replacement, or a brand name they were quoted last week. Each product line gets its own campaigns and its own budget, because a full-house replacement and a single patio door are different jobs at different margins.

How we run Google Ads

Paid social for demand that has not started searching

Most homeowners who need windows are not searching yet. Facebook and Instagram reach them first — install photos, before and after, financing, and neighborhood-level targeting around streets where you are already working. It is also where you recover the appointment that cancelled and went quiet.

How we run paid social

Local SEO across the whole service radius

Your showroom ranks where it sits, which is rarely where your best jobs are. Google Business Profile built out and maintained properly, plus service-area pages that earn traffic in the towns you actually drive to, so you are not paying per click for every lead at the edge of your radius.

How we approach local SEO

AI search visibility (AEO)

Homeowners increasingly ask an assistant before they ask a search engine — what impact windows cost, whether a brand is any good, who installs them locally. When someone asks ChatGPT or Google’s AI who to call in your market, you want to be named. Included as standard, not sold as an add-on.

How AI search works

Call tracking and offline conversion tracking

Most of your leads call. Call tracking ties each one to the campaign, ad and search term that produced it, and recordings tell you whether the phone is being answered well. Then the outcomes your CRM already knows — set, sat, sold, contract value — get pushed back into Google and Meta, so the platforms buy more of what closed rather than more of what clicked.

Creative from real installs

Ad creative built from what your crews already produce — install photos, before and after, a homeowner on camera, a short clip of a slider going in — then tested against itself. You find out which product, angle and headline actually pulls before you put budget behind it. Stock photography of a window does not sell a window.

What changed in 2026

The tax credit your energy-efficiency copy was built on is gone

If your ads still run on it, they are out of date — and so is your offer.

For years the federal energy-efficiency credit was the urgency lever in replacement window advertising. Under Public Law 119-21 (IRS guidance, 2025), the Section 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit does not apply to property placed in service after December 31, 2025.

That removes a deadline a lot of window marketing leaned on, and it leaves a gap in the offer. Companies still running the old creative are advertising something a homeowner can no longer claim. Confirm the current position with your tax advisor before any tax claim appears in an ad — this page states what the law says, not what applies to a given buyer.

What replaces it is local, which is good news if you are set up to use it and bad news if your agency is running the same national copy in every market.

Why us

What’s different about working with us

Plenty of agencies will send a window company a traffic report. Fewer will tell you which campaign is producing appointments nobody sits. Fewer still will set the tracking up so that answer is still available six months from now.

  • We optimize on sold jobs, not form fills. Your CRM already knows which leads set, sat and closed. We push those outcomes back into the ad platforms so they buy more of what actually paid.
  • Every lead is traced from click to contract. Call tracking on the phone number, source tagging on the form, and the tag travelling with the record into your CRM. Attribution is the product, not an add-on.
  • Straight talk about shared leads. We will not tell you to cancel the lead services on day one. We will tell you what your own channel costs per sold job, and let you decide when the shared leads become optional.
  • You keep everything. Ad accounts, call tracking, website, analytics and lead history stay in your name. If we part ways, you walk off with the conversion history that makes the next campaign cheaper.

How it works

Four steps, starting with a free assessment

Step 1

Assess

We look at how you show up in search across your service radius today, what your site does with the traffic it already gets, and what AI assistants say about you. Free, and yours to keep.

Step 2

Wire up the tracking

Call tracking, form source tagging and the connection into your CRM go in before spend does. Without this step every number that follows is a guess.

Step 3

Launch and test

Campaigns by product line, creative tested against itself, and budget moved toward whatever is producing appointments people actually sit.

Step 4

Report

Monthly reporting on leads, set rate, sat rate and cost per sold job, plus what we are changing next month and why. Written for you, not for an analyst.

The same problem, in two other industries

We are straight about this: neither of these is a window company. Both are high-ticket sales that close on a phone call or across a table, which is the same measurement problem you have.

Who this is for

Built for dealers who sell installs, not impressions

This works best for independent and regional window and door companies running their own sales team — roughly one to a dozen crews, where the owner still sees the board every week. If you have an in-house marketing department and a national media agency, we are probably not the right fit and we will say so on the call.

Central Florida is our home market, so we understand a market where the product sells on storm protection and insurance as much as on energy savings. Because the work is digital, we also run accounts elsewhere in Florida and across the United States.

Companies we work with

  • Impact window specialists
  • Replacement window dealers
  • Entry & patio door installers
  • Sliding glass door specialists
  • Glass companies
  • Sunroom & patio enclosures
  • Exterior remodelers
  • Hurricane protection companies
  • Manufacturer-authorized dealers

FAQ

Window & door marketing, answered straight

What does digital marketing for a window and door company cost?

Two numbers matter: the media budget you put into the platforms, and the fee for managing it. What separates a workable budget from a wasted one is install capacity. There is no point buying more demand than your crews can install inside a reasonable lead time, and there is no point starving a market where you have open calendar. We scope both after the free assessment, once we have seen your service radius, your product mix and how many demos your sales team can realistically run in a week.

How fast will a window and door company start seeing appointments?

Paid search and paid social can produce inquiries inside the first two weeks, because you are buying demand that already exists. Appointments follow within days of that if your intake is fast. The honest part is what the first month actually tells you: lead cost and lead quality, not close rate. You need enough sold jobs to judge a campaign, and in a business with a five figure ticket that usually takes sixty to ninety days. SEO and AI search visibility take three to six months and are what lowers your blended cost over time.

Why measure set and sat appointments instead of leads?

Because a form fill is the cheapest and least meaningful event in your funnel. In an in home selling model the money is decided after the lead arrives: whether it books, whether both decision makers are there, whether the demo happens, whether it closes. An agency reporting form fills can show you a great month while your crews sit idle. We push the later events back into the ad platforms so the algorithms optimize toward the people who actually buy, not the people who are easiest to get a form out of.

Should we keep buying shared leads from lead services?

Often yes, at least at first, and we will say so plainly. Shared leads fill calendar while you build a channel of your own, and dropping them before the replacement works is how contractors end up with a quiet week. What they do not give you is a lead nobody else called, a cost you control, or a customer who came looking for your name. The goal is to make your own search, social and SEO cheap enough per sold job that the shared leads become optional rather than load bearing.

Is the federal energy efficiency tax credit still available for windows in 2026?

No. Under Public Law 119-21, the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit under Section 25C does not apply to property placed in service after December 31, 2025. The IRS has published guidance on the change. This matters for your advertising because energy efficiency copy built on a federal tax credit is now out of date, and running it risks an accuracy problem as well as a wasted offer. Confirm the current position with your tax advisor before any tax claim appears in an ad.

Do we own the ad accounts and the lead data?

Yes. The Google Ads account, the Meta assets, the call tracking, the analytics, the website and the lead history are yours and stay in your name. If the relationship ends you keep all of it, including the historical conversion data that makes the next campaign cheaper to run. We do not hold accounts hostage and we do not require a long-term contract.
